The IGVT’s mission is the characterization, design and functionalization of surfaces of organic, inorganic and biological origin as well as of nano-, bio- and hybrid materials and their interaction.
Further activities include the simulation and process engineering of interfacially driven processes in membrane technology and biotechnology, including their chemical, physical-chemical, biochemical, molecular and cell biological fundamentals.

Most of the Institute's activities are currently carried out on the premises of the Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology IGB. Additionally, the IGVT runs also laboratories and pilot plant facilities at Stuttgart University’s multipurpose branch at Allmandring 5b. Location Allmandring 5b |
